Do you remember those lessons from the early days of your science classes where you learned that everything is made up of energy?
It’s a weird concept, but we now conclusively understand that at the smallest level of our reality, everything is ultimately made of molecules. Not just molecules, but molecules in motion. This idea is often explained to students by using the example of a table—it looks solid to us, but it’s really made up of virtually countless molecules vibrating with life and frequency.
We know this, yet for so many so-called skeptics the concept of benefiting from “raising your frequency” sounds like a load of hippie voodoo.
If that describes you, or if you’re simply new to the idea of frequency raising and you’re in the skeptical-but-open-minded stages, I’d like to begin this post with a quote from the great inventor Nikola Tesla. He famously said:
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
While we certainly haven’t come close to finding the secrets to the universe, we do have an understanding of frequency and what it means to us as living organisms. Everything has a vibrational frequency, including you, me, your table, the neighbor’s cat, and of course, essential oils.
The really interesting part? Not only can frequency be measured, it can be changed.
The Benefit of a Higher Body Frequency
Frequency refers to a measurement. Specifically, the rate at which vibration occurs. Think about tuning a radio—different frequencies (i.e., radio wave vibrations in the air) will let you listen to a different channel.
The frequency of the human body can be measured in a number of ways, but usually a specialized tool called a biofeedback machine. These devices usually operate by detecting skin temperature, muscle tension, and/or brain wave activity.
If we accept that everything has a vibrational frequency, then it’s not too much of a leap to understand that the things we come in contact with can directly impact our body frequency, right?
On average, the healthy human body has a frequency of 62 to 72 megahertz (MHz). Different things we come in contact with can raise or lower this frequency. For example, if you’re feeling under the weather and have the sniffles due to a minor bug, your body frequency might be a tiny bit lower than usual.
Remember, everything has frequency, including what we put on or in our body. A great example is food. The canned or processed stuff can have a frequency close to zero… but fresh produce can reach 15 MHz.
Our behavior and even our thought patterns themselves can influence our body frequency by quite a bit. As you might suspect, negative thoughts will lower your frequency (by as much as 12 MHz). Conversely, positive thoughts can raise it by 10 MHz.
For most of us it’s tough to think positive thoughts all the time. That’s where the external influences come in.
How Essential Oils Can Raise Your Frequency
So how do essential oils come into play in raising one’s body frequency?
As it turns out, essential oils tend to have very high frequencies, generally ranging from 52 MHz to 320 MHz. Some have claimed that essential oils have the highest frequency of any organic substance available.
Rose oil is typically cited as the highest frequency essential oil, resonating at 320 MHz (although some research has indicated that Idaho Blue Spruce can reach up to 580 MHz).
The frequencies of some common essential oils are…
- Frankincense: 147 MHz
- Lavender: 118 MHz
- Sandalwood: 98 MHz
- Peppermint: 78 MHz
- Basil: 52 MHz
If you don’t want to take notes on which essential oils have what frequency, it’s easy to remember that they all have high frequencies.
How do you benefit from them? You don’t have to do anything “special.” All you have to do is use them just like you (probably) already are. Diffuse, apply topically, and continue using them in your own DIY projects.
Your body attunes to its surroundings. Wouldn’t you then logically say that it’s important to surround yourself with things that have a positive frequency?
Open Yourself to New Possibilities
Body frequency and its effect on overall wellness and disposition is a huge topic. If you have the time, I would recommend digging into it a bit deeper—many natural healers have spent their entire lives researching the topic and some of their discoveries have been nothing short of baffling.
While you can’t shield yourself from all low frequencies, you can make a conscious decision to bring as many positive frequencies into your life dfas possible. Start by choosing to think positively (yes, it is a choice!) and, if you haven’t already, make a point of using your essential oils more regularly.
Monitor your “progress” over the course of 1 week… mark my words, you will experience noticeable benefits!
